Through the WASH in Schools Technical Working Group of the Department of Education, the FIT program maintains technical collaboration with organizations working to promote daily group hygiene activities in schools:
Beyond the Regional Fit for School program, Unilever and GIZ collaborated on a public-private partnership in the Philippines from 2016 to 2018 through the develoPPP.de programme financed by Domestos School Programme and BMZ. This collaboration focused on conducting research on operation and maintenance of WinS facilities and habit formation. Based on the success of this partnership, Unilever and GIZ have continued their collaboration with another two-year partnership starting in late 2019 to support the improvement of the SDG sanitation indicators in schools in the Philippines.
With the additional support from the Hygiene and Behavior Change Coalition, an initiative from the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO) and Unilever, the project was extended in scope and scale to integrate the development of models for pandemic preparedness and response measures, particularly on personal and environmental hygiene, for schools across the country.
